AC blows air at my feet first, at every start up

not a big deal, but I would love to change that default settings...

So, every time I turn the car on, the AC blows at feet for the fist few seconds and then switches to other vents.
Does your car act like this?
 
Yes. It seems that the louvers remain open to the floor vents for preconditioning, and when the car starts it takes a few seconds for the other outlets to open up (Auto or manually set).
 
I very seldom use the air conditioning. But I can tell you that when I crack open the sunroof (while driving), I can feel cool air coming in on my feet.
 
Mine does this too. I think it’s to blow that initial blast of potentially hot air at your feet and not your face.

Personally, I like it

The only reason I don't like it is because that initial blast of air into the floor mats throws the dust all over the cabin.
(and yes, my mats are cleaned regularly)
And that happens several times a day. Not good at all
 
Oh woof, that sounds terrible. I take it you traverse dirt roads often? We haven’t had much issue with dust blowing around in ours, and we don’t even clean it that frequently, maybe a couple times a year.

There aren’t any settings that I am aware of to change that. But there may be something in BimmerCode? Seems less likely though.
