I hope you can keep your Model S plugged in overnight wherever you stop for the night, even if it's by using an extension cord plugged into a standard 110v outlet. That will let the battery's heater keep the pack warm overnight, preserving as much range as possible.
That seems to be a lot bigger range hit than I imagined. Your original 288-mile estimate is close to what others have been getting with the Model S, though I suppose in milder weather. What's your average highway speed?
Efficiency didn't seen worse in 20 degrees than it did 32 degrees. Actually from Perry to here I slowed down to 72 mph and efficiency improved a bunch. Seems like difference between 72 and 80 a bunch for efficiency.
