I hear noises with my 712 that remind me of my faulty 710. I have a 2019 model year.
I'll start from the beginning with the 710. The issue started with a motorcycle like sound at higher speeds that only occurred when accelerating. Then two weeks later, it started the tapping sound at low speeds when accelerating. No sounds when braking (with regen or physical brakes). This was around 4k miles. I drove it for another 17k miles before finally getting it fixed (went to three different dealers before one finally agreed it was an issue with the motor). They replaced the motor with the 712 but not the reduction gear. There were no strange noises when I left the dealer.
Fast forward under 1k miles later, I heard a very similar (maybe even same?) tapping sound when regen braking to a complete stop. I also heard the motorcycle like sound at higher speeds that only occur when accelerating. I forgot which one came first. It's been over 2k miles since then and I still hear those sounds. What I do not hear though, is the tapping sound at low speeds when accelerating that so many people with the motor issue commonly hear.
It could be my ears playing tricks on me. I'll give it another half year before drawing a conclusion.

18,000 miles on my 2019 EV ex premium - leased since October of 2020. The low speed "imbalanced washing machine" sound appeared on the first cold morning this Fall.
Most of my driving is less than 40 mph. The drivetrain noise is covered at higher speeds. I sent the service manager links to the infamous video, and noted when the sound is audible.
Just returned from local "Certified EV service center" South of Boston. They informed me that the car was making "normal CVT noises". They were keen to offer me a new set of tires to reduce road noise.
I didn't bother explaining the difference between a reduction gear and CVT to the local brain trust.
Their roadtest was performed on the local highway, posted speed 65 mph.
The main drawback facing KIA as a brand is that they sell and service cars through KIA dealerships.
Will this be my last KIA? If Genesis leases their version of the EGMP, that seems likely.

No, it's an original E710 from 2019.
Gotcha. I think this thread is more about the E712 motor and those experiencing issues with that motor so just wanted to clarify what motor you had. To date, I think there's only been one person who has complained about noises from a 712.

It's pertinent to any discussion to illustrate the difficulties we will encounter and the solutions we find. My experience with KIA service is probably ordinary - particularly here in the USA. Like the OP, I dealt with a freshly "trained" staff that didn't realize that the car has no CVT - and that's the competence level we should expect.
To be fair, there's maybe 11,000 of these in North America and not all of those will develope objectionable noise or outright failure.
