To install the trailer lights wiring in my clarity i had to disconnect the 12v battery. When i finished and reconnected the 12v battery, I could only charge the car to 38 miles of range. Before I saw 46-48 miles of charge. I since drove about 500 miles, discharged the battery, recharged it several times and the max charge is stuck at 38 miles. What could this be?

Ignoring the GOM, have your actual EV-only miles driven changed before/after without changes to weather or driving patterns?

Thank you for replying.
Yes, actual miles changed and match what's displayed. Weather- at 40s-60s. I couldn't find any settings in the internal computer to perhaps recalibrate the charged battery.. I thought it reset after i unplugged the 12v.

I know you have gone through some miles and charges / discharges.
My suspicion is that everything is fine, and it will just return to 'normal' on it's own after a 'while'.
The GOM is a strange bird, and the estimates are based on some kind of history in addition to current usage.

Aww! That's exactly what I wanted to read:) i thought the same. Just need to bear with it for a while. Thank you!

(More opinion is still welcome!)

UPDATE: I ended up taking Clarity to the nearby Honda for inspection. Right before that I reset everything: unplugged the 12v for 3 hours, then manually reset to factory settings from the car menu. Since it is out of warranty it was a tough decision (hundred bucks if they find anything + whatever extra to fix it). They run a full scan and have not found anything wrong with the car. Battery is at its full capacity (20k+ miles traveled on electric out of 37k total miles since January 2019). No new updates to the OS, which- based on some other posts about the same issue- I was hoping could be the issue...

They told me to just drive it, regularly. I started doing that and magically, in the last few days, the range started climbing on every charge. 37, 39, 41, 42 and last night- back to 47. I'm happy, but upset at the same time- what caused this drop and why it has stayed down at 37 maximum range for about a month, I still have no idea. At least now, after visiting Honda, I received a case number and can bring it up next time it happens, without going to Honda again. Love my Honda again.
