22500 Mile Service Notice

I received a notice from BlueLink that my 2021 Kona is due for a 22500 Mile Service. I'm wondering what that entails. If anyone's had this done please let me know. The last service I brought it in for was for a tire rotation which was a complete waste of my time, because I could have done it myself.

I don't know exactly what is done but check Section 9 of the owners manual for what is required.

I think the easy things can be done like replacing bulbs, cleaning battery posts, wiper blades, lubricating hinges, and cabin air filter. There are videos on changing reduction gear fluid, lubricating the brake shoes. I know special tools are needed to replace coolant, and brake fluid. They say keep detailed maintenance records for warranty.

I was quoted this when I picked up my 21 MY:
"The maintenance will be as follows:
1st year (12k kms) $69.00 (checks)
2nd year (24k kms) $200 (brakes take apart, clean & lubricate (pins etc) and checks
3Rd year Brake fluid change + checks (didn't get price but usually $200 or less)
Coolant change on the Kona @60K km"
In addition to the brake lubrication and checks, I will be requesting a second gearbox oil replacement @ a cost of @$200 (last one was in Jan 2022 @ 8699 km, so I can expect a $400 bill when I take mine in late October. If the old gearbox oil comes out fairly clear, I probably won't worry about changing it again until ~ 40k kms ( odo reads 13,256 today)

Being in New England, at the very least a good *looksee* at the brake mechanics every year (springtime)
is worthwhile.

I'm still dubious about brake fluid changes, unless major abuse is going on. Never changed it in the Prius
over 15+ years, occasional test-strip dips showed just fine the whole time.

I'm majorly peeved that a DIY coolant change is made pretty much impossible by design [and/or deliberate
poor availability of necessary tools]. A "run the pumps and cycle the valves" diag function on the screen
would have been almost trivial for some dev guy to to code.
