And, of course, there's been just a huge upsurge of anti-EV media lately too. It's a mess that's going to take years to sort out.
All that nonsense is certainly bouncing around here stateside. On top of the usual myths and lies being spread all over, the latest is that infernal Consumer Reports article, "Electric Vehicles Are Less Reliable Than Conventional Cars." Here's a rebuttal and a CNN article that actually points out the obvious, implied in the CR article, that "the problems arise because electric cars are mostly new models, and recently-introduced car models generally tend to have more issues, regardless of what propels them." That detail, as far as I can tell, wasn't reported in any of what's been widely spread in the media reports on the CR report, exacerbated by a concurrent backlash from the usual directions to the idea that the US government should encourage or discourage anything in the national interest.
