Am I misremembering or did the motor specs for the SE used to say 181 hp and 199 lb-ft? I just checked and it says 184 hp and 270 lb-ft!

No wonder I am feeling torque steer thats others have said was minor :)

I've seen power output of 135 kW (184 hp) and 270 Nm of torque mentioned in other sites talking ubout March 2021 updates, (notice Nm vs lb-ft).. 270 Nm is about 199 lbft. I think thats the same as reported for 2020-2021.

Bummer, I got excited for a second there!

Definitely not a coincidence that the numbers convert exactly... Shame on Mini for not checking their units!

Haha fair... I have been trying to convert myself regardless of what the US does but it's definitely not easy after years of imperial units

BMW/MINI has been running this scam for years. They use "184 hp" when they should be using "184 PS," which is the abbreviation for Pferdestärke, the German word for "horsepower." One PS does not equal one hp. As Car and Driver explains, one hp describes about 1.4 percent more power than one PS (PS x 0.9863 = hp). If you convert the 135 kW rating, you get 181.038 hp.

There are actually 3 commonly used conversions for horsepower - mechanical (HP), metric (PS) and electrical (HPe). All 3 are slightly different. That is why kW is better - no ambiguity. 181HP = 184PS.
