I post before bull bar build from PVC as a make up how will look but now I’m building from 1 3/4 “ steel pipe. I know is very controversial and is not easy to put that project together but I’m doing progress with my build.Want to share some pictures as build is in progress.Lights will be 6 or 7” with yellow lenses.Brackets for bar a very complicated I remove a factory enclosure and replace with Lexan for strength and to accommodate my brackets, they build from 1x1” square aluminum for lightness.Bull bar could be easy remove just 4 bolts without lifting a car.I didn’t alternate any of car structure. My approach is to bolt on and easy remove all if I need it.

Today I install my bull bar and I’m putting some picture also ordering today some yellow lights which I kind not fan of them but can’t locate any thing better , and latter I put them in my garden if I get something better with 12 volt transformer .No bull bar or bull bar with 20 M/HR collision you have 10000 $ damage to a car anyway this is for looks only and practically any benefits to a car just only to scare drivers to back up to a car when they parking .I install previously bull bars on 2011 Kia and on 2019 Subaru and after 100000 miles on both cars was no scratches on SS 3” pipes .NY with crowded streets that how I’m dealing with on my benefits I build all my self for cheep . Subaru Forester I use 3” SS bull bar from Toyota Tacoma from E-bay $120 and $20 steel from Home Depot and my skills but local installers ask me $2000 for it in 2019 .SE with this contraption loos very intimidating don’t touch ME!!!

You did a really nice job with the bull bar, quite a difference from your prototype.
I really appreciate your comments a PVC was only a make up if SE could look good or OK but with metal 1/3/4” dimensions I find out proportions and looks was acceptable to me that’s why I build this and I believe this will be only SE with this bull bar in a country for long time bc this car is not really a racer on or Baja desert racer .

That looks good, great work and thanks for the write up! You certainly have a unique looking SE, in the spirit of rule #4: No two minis should be the same

Well done!!

In the late 80s my mother had a Buick Skyhawk with a trailer hitch. The car lived by the ocean, and I used it to bring stuff to my apartment in NYC. After many years of use and abuse, the car was a rusty mess, but the rear bumper was immaculate! Proof Rexsio has the right idea.

For defensive urban parking, you might want to consider a bull bar on the back of your SE as well.

I’m working on design and is difficult to attach any thing there on all my previous cars I install hitch which was easy to attach anything .There under a bumper is a lot of space cover with plastic and why BMW didn’t accommodate small spare tire which could make better balance of a car .That is my question to those guys to improve 2024 which have new platform and no room for doughnut .To late with me idea’s.
