   I love the REX. It is the one feature that makes the i3 such a unique car. People are afraid it will self destruct. It is a complex machine, but not as complex as an ICE car with transmission, drive shafts, etc. It is a normally aspirated port-injected engine with mechanical oil/water pump and forged components, pretty robust as long as maintained properly.
