I've had an alarm installed that changed things, so I can't test this myself. When you're walking up to the Clarity, when do the interior dome lights come on? Do they come on automatically via the proximity sensor when you get close with the key? Do they come on if you press the button on the electronic key to unlock the doors? I know there's a setting for how long the dome lights remain on after you get out of the car, but I'm wondering about when they turn on when you return to the car. On most older cars, they turn on when you use the factory remote to unlock the doors. On my Prius Prime, they turn on when you get close with the electronic key in your pocket.
