It will be sad to see Tesla leave Hong Kong. EV sales there were significant enough for Tesla to ship some of the original Roadsters there for sale. (Reading back in this thread, I see I already said that.) If I remember correctly, the last of the original Roadsters still offered for sale as a new car was in Hong Kong... which may indicate sales were a lot slower than Tesla expected, so perhaps it wasn't such a great market after all? At any rate, as one person commented in response to the InsideEVs news article, it looks like Tesla has already mostly pulled out of Hong Kong. At this point, if they close their stores and/or offices there, it won't matter much. Looks like trying to maintain sales in Hong Kong would be just throwing good money after bad, for Tesla. -
Only a few of those states though have the ZEV mandates and ZEV credits. (Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont)
