$0.21 is reasonable. $200 year probably doesn't cover it, but it acknowledges the issue. The nice thing about fuel taxes is they indirectly put the tax burden proportionally to users based on the miles driven and road use. Graffiti and vandalism are the indicators that our society is starting to break down. It's sad.

In addition, I forgot the weight tax. Since EVs are heavier then a regular car, an EV owner pays more taxes.

I'm not as worried about graffiti and vandalism as much as getting shot at by someone with anger issues. Too many guns!!!!

"A well armed society is a very polite society." - Heinlein

"If ducks could shoot back, there wouldn't be as many duck hunters" - My dad likely stole this from someone.

The problem is a lack of home training not the tools used to incite violence. I remember to this day the one and only time I ever talked back to my mother. Let's fix the discipline problem with our children, then the bulk of the violence and lack of respect for other people and their property will decline dramatically. This was not a big problem 50-60 years ago.

People who were never taught the difference between right and wrong. For some strange reason we shut down all the asylums and let the crazy people out rather than fix the problems. Everyone is entitled, actions have no consequences.

I know there were folks stealing / cutting the cables on EV pedestals thinking they could sell the wire. I watched someone stroll out of a Lowes with a cart full of stuff they didn't pay for. We have to allow society to stop this madness before it boils over.
