Will have 200+ mile range.
Will be bigger, redesign to be SUV.
Thanks for this, it sounds pretty awesome.
To be built on the Kona platform, and share its battery pack(s).
Here's the official story on InsideEVs. (Needs a H/T to @JyChevyVolt)
New Kia Soul EV To Ride On Kona Platform, Go 186 Miles Per Charge
Any speculation as to whether or not this will be equipped with independent rear suspension. Seems to me most of the Kias use torsion beam rear suspension.
This would be a special car if they turned it into an all wheel drive micro SUV.
Also timely is the inclusion of the 10" touchscreen. The Hyundai Kona lacks a wow factor because of the small touchscreen. There should be an option for a larger one.
I've seen/heard in several videos that the rear suspension is multi-link independent in the EV version. This is consistent with the same platform being used in the Niro and the Kona EVs.

I have a deposit on one. I can say for certain it is not awd but I forgot to check the suspension.
Yes, it has the multi-link rear suspension. Here is the 2020 Kia Soul spec sheet.
