We are not gas-free. I’m driving my 2019 Model 3. My Wife drives our new Model Y performance. Love them both. Trying to decide if I should buy the new extended warranty on my 3. Factory warranty runs out in a few weeks.
What does the extended warranty cover, how much does it cost, how long does it last, and can you afford to self-insure? Teslas are pretty reliable, aren't they? I bought the extended warranty for my 2018 Honda Clarity PHEV because I bought the first Clarity in my state and just a new infotainment head unit would cost more than the $1,200 extended warranty. Six years later, and I've never needed the extended warranty. I didn't buy the extended for my 2021 electric MINI Cooper SE because at around $5K it cost more than I decided I could afford if something went wrong. I'm gamblng by self-insuring that car. I never needed the extended warranty on my 2006 Honda Insight, so that was a wasted $1,200.
