They will eliminate Obsidian Black and Metallic Silver

I looked at the Tesla owners site where they have list of cars that have purchased with details.

Here is the breakdown of colors

    Obsidian Black Metallic 138
    Silver Metallic 347
    Solid Black 585
    Pearl White Multi-Coat 794
    Red Multi-Coat 953
    Deep Blue Metallic 1021
    Midnight Silver Metallic 1051

    Total 4889

Solid black is the base color (no additional charge). Obsidian Black and Silver Metallic are the two least popular colors. Small lots are killers in such paint shops, based on the set up time and tear down time, especially given they are metallic paints. Hence Tesla is wise to eliminate them for now. Again this tells us that most people are not paying the $49,000 base price, they are at the minimum paying up to $2,000 for paint upgrade.

I guess if they do not reintroduce it, you can claim that this is rare and difficult to find color when you want to sell it :)
