3.5 0-60 on Taycan won't cut it. It will produce endless videos of less expensive Tesla Model 3 Performance sedans spanking the more expensive electric Porsche at the drag strip by a full half a second. That full half a second acceleration speed may also help the Model 3 beat the Porsche around the race track, because that is a large margin. Clearly they are crippling their EV effort to save face for their obsolete ICE line up.

Worse is what is happening with the Qtron- for its price there is no justification for missing 100 miles of range. It is as bad as what GM did to the back end of the Bolt and what Honda did to the back end of the EV and even PHEV Clarity(s) these are their to limit the sales to compliance car numbers.

But in the case of VW its worse because it coming after much improved rhetoric but still coming after Diesel Gate which is heating up again where VW was caught failing convincingly in a different way where they used software to fraud emissions tests and made it look like they had produced clean diesel- as stupid as clean coal.

Notice the 3 themes. The Qtron needs more than 300 miles of range and the Taycan needs sub 3.0 second zero to 60 times. VW can't do that because it can't have its most popular vehicles instantly become electric. Now there have been some orders of the Taycan because its customer base Trust Porsche but range is so sub par (same range that sent Mercedes back to the drawing board) especially given the price that VW will have to delay or suffer defeat in the market Bolt style. And lets be clear Bolt was an utter defeat but by design. Musk called the sales stating it was a compliance vehicle and predicted to the sales to within double digits. GM's strategy since the EV1 has always been to fail convincingly but right now GM as a whole is failing compellingly because at the current rate of sales decline its about to repeat its 07 bankruptcy.
