  1. Like most of us EV owners I charge at home 99% of the time. Since using DC fast chargers tend to be pricey and may not be very friendly to the drive battery's life span, I use them very seldom, only on long trips. When you are on the move L2 chargers are seldom practical.

Now that the Covid situation is finally settling I started to plan longer trips. Looking at charge stations on maps I noticed that over the past 12 to 18 months DC fast chargers were popping up like mushrooms, at least here in Ontario. So going to the cottage, to camp or visiting friends at 'far away' places is becoming a non issue. The only problem is, that one has to work with several apps to cover the area visited to make sure you get the best coverage. PlugShare does a good job at listing chargers made available by various providers. But the build out of regional/national networks is still under way. It is hard for them to keep up.

In any case, life is getting better - and simpler - for EV drivers.

  3. I posted a thread on this in "General" last week. Thought it a good idea if I am low on funds in one account being able to pay for it with another, but yet to try it, as I tend to use the free machines as long as possible:)
