    Hi,

I am a student at the Eindhoven University of Technology and currently, I am doing my master thesis regarding the feasibility of solar roofs on Electric Vehicles.

See below an impression of how this would look like on a model 3.

As I would like to gather some input from model 3 owners, I would like to ask you if you are willing to take part in the following survey:

Looking forward to hearing your opinions, and thanks in advance for filling in the survey!

There is a parasitic load that a fairly small solar array could handle to keep the 12V battery optimized. Traction power take significantly more.

Let me suggest a solar trailer with battery storage and active, sun following. You'll still need significant storage, 25-50 kWh, but at least it will not have to deal with driving loads. Folded up for towing, it can provide power in remote areas.
