We get a little glimpse of what is most likely the Buick version of the Bolt EV. As expected, it looks like a similar shape as the Bolt EV. Although it is clearly longer and looks more like a traditional crossover shape. http://gmauthority.com/blog/2017/11/general-motors-teases-future-electric-crossover/ This was shown by Mary Barra to a group of investors today discussing GM's future in EVs, ride sharing, and full autonomy. Some highlights: - Future EV model plans (1 sedan, 1 van, 1 ride sharing city vehicle, 1 wagon... and a whole bunch of SUVs) - There is also a brief discussion of their next gen battery system due ~ 2020 at a cost of under $100 / kWhr - "Range options for customers" - I'm curious if this means a variety of vehicles with different ranges... or different pack sizes per vehicle. - GM Global sales forecast of ~100,000/200,000 Plug-Ins for 2018 / 2019 - Re-iterates several times that they plan to promote EV infrastructure in the future. https://www.gm.com/content/dam/gm/events/docs/5265845-684463-Chartset-11-15-2017 While I applaud GM's plug-in options so far and think their upcoming lineup is heading in the right direction... I'll believe the "infrastructure investment" when I see it. BMW, Nissan, and Tesla have done more for infrastructure than GM. But the Bolt likely changes this for them since the Volt and ELR "infrastructure" was a gas station lol.
