Any way to buy an adaptor to other charge types? I assume fast chargers lvl 3 are out. But how about a dryer plug for 220v 40 amp and if so what kind of extension cable is needed?
The Honda Clarity only works with L1 or L2 chargers which are a lot more than an extension cable. The chargers have logic that communicates with the car when they are plugged in.
The 240 adapter: https://www.facebook.com/groups/408505746238938/user/100000959042228 Posters will say you shouldn't do this, but the Clarity charging cable is rated 120/240. Someone on the FB page had an electrician take it apart and it clearly stated that. They supply the same one in Europe.
Depending on where you live, the most valuable adaptor could be one that lets you use a Tesla Destination EVSE (NOT a Tesla Supercharger) such as the Lectron Tesla to J1772 adapter.
I have used my OEM evse for the past 3 years on 240v. It will charge 2x as fast at the higher voltage.
