Well isn't this interesting: https://insideevs.com/news/450548/sae-j2954-wireless-charging-standard/ up to 11 kW rate and expected 94% efficiency. Hopefully it doesn't take as long to implement it as it did to develop it
I personally don't understand why wireless charging seems to be so interesting to people. I personally only see problems with it: - Aligning the car correctly over a charge pad - efficiency - max speed Why is it so hard to grab a cord and plug it in? It literally takes me less than 10 seconds. Better efficiency, better speeds. Even cell phones and they've been on the market forever (), don't have a consistent standard for that, yet a consistent saturation.
Efficiency yet to be determined but expected up to 94% which I consider pretty good. Max speed of 11 kW with WTP3 power level is pretty fast. Aligning the car could be easily done with sensors built into the car and charging unit. For handicap applications I think this will help a lot, and could be easily installed without any trip hazard using pancake mold or some variance, unlike a conventional cord.
