  1. Rivian Motorway will be the new name of the road that runs past the automaker's plant in Normal, Illinois after just a few formalities are finished. Unsurprisingly, the current appellation for that stretch of asphalt is now Mitsubishi Motorway for the company that used to occupy the plant before its current tenant bought it.

According to the Pantagraph, the measure is on the "consent agenda" -- routine matters that generally pass with a single vote. The Normal city council approved the change last July, though it also needs a nod from the McLean County Board.

Deputy City Manager Billy Tyus is pretty keen on both the change and the company. He opined, "This is another item in consideration of supporting the future growth of Rivian. Most people are aware of this project and its development, and it's going to have a huge impact on our local economy. It's going to mean investment. It's going to mean additional employment opportunities for the people of this area as well."
