Removing wax from black trim: Solved

  1. Something I learned by "accident". A couple of years ago I went over the entire car. At the end of the waxing I was tired and got sloppy. I got some wax on the black trim under the windshield wipers.

    I spent a lot of time and money on products that were supposed to clean it off and nothing worked. Yesterday I cleaned the wheels and did tire black. While I was checking that it all looked good I saw that white wax and figured, "What the heck".

    I sprayed the tire coating on a cloth and wiped the old wax. It came right off. You can not tell it had wax on it for a couple of years.

    Interestingly it did not impart a shine, which is a good thing.
