I jumped into my SE today, turned it on as usual, and got a "Remote Control, Engine Won't Start" error message. I checked my pocket for the FOB and tried again and we drive off, but then the rear camera guidelines have disappeared.... again.

Did someone sneak an ICE into the engine compartment? or perhaps a ghost is left over from Halloween waking up with a bad hangover?... There was a low hum coming from the center dash area.

    Anyone see this error?

    Perhaps a low FOB battery.

If battery is low do this on steering column on right side and start SE and change battery in fob

It's definitely a low fob battery, I had the exact same issue with my previous F56 Cooper S.

I've had to replace the fob battery only once in five Mini's, and strangely enough, not in the Mini I had for 10 years.

I get that message occasionally, usually when my key fob is in a bag next to my cellphone or behind a full water bottle. Though it has happened a couple times when it's in my pocket.
