Sealed the ring where your 2 bottom arrows are shown both sides but still have to do the back, thought I had enough but of course I ran out of sealant.
If I can avoid a visit with a little silicone I feel that is worthwhile, also if I decide to hold on to the car after the warranty has expired it may save a costly repair. Of course everything is working now and wish to keep it that way
Just got my car back today. Problem fixed under warranty with a replacement of 86340-K4000 MODULE CHARGE DR Suspected Cause: moisture in the electronics
You know, if the electronics inside are not working correctly due to trapped moisture, this might have something to do with your difficulties sometimes with removing the charge plug. I still recommend taking it to the dealer.
I checked the relevant wiring diagrams and I'd have to say that looks unlikely. The two functions seem to have no wiring in common and are mounted on different parts of the front end. The LED, timer override button and door sensor are all CAN controlled as one assembly while the lock actuator is wired directly to relays.
Tube of silicone: $5.99, 86340-K4000 Module charge door: $439.39 (USD) https://www.hyundaipartsdeal.com/genuine/hyundai-module-charge-dr~86340-k4000.html Seems worth it to me for a little preventative maintenance.
