   What happens if one turns this auto lock feature OFF?
   
   How does one handle departures from the car? Does it work the old-fashioned way (a la Honda Accord) where you have to press the lock button on the key fob?
   
   Would that help with the other issue— the “car keeps running” “stays on” problem?

   Yes, if you turn the auto lock off, then the beeping stops. Not sure what you mean in your second sentence.
