  1. The New York Times had a piece last week (which didn't require a subscription for me to read) about the price of lithium fallingsignificantly recently. Thought I'd share as it's a great reminder that markets don't always work the way we think they're going to.

    This may only be a temporary dip - people have different takes on why this is happening - and is likely to rise again. Then again, there are a number of things that could happen that might also put more downward pressure on the price. It's still high enough for producers to make fantastic profits.

    As a side note, I saw a few things in the piece that I think the writers got wrong. Example: Lithium is "uniquely suited for batteries because of its ability to store energy." Lithium acts as a means of energy transport, not storage, which happens on the cathode and anode.

    Reuters also published a piece on the price of lithium and its near-term outlook with different sourcing and perspective.
