Prefilled renewal applications for CA HOV decals were supposed to have been mailed around 1 Oct according to https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/?1dmy&urile=wcmath:/dmv_content_en/dmv/vr/decal I haven't gotten mine yet. Has anyone gotten theirs? Or has anyone been successful in mailing in a new application to get your green stickers converted to whatever color they are planning to use starting 1 Jan 2019? Thanks. --Dave
Mine arrived today. The letter is dated 10/8 and the postmark is 10/12. Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
Mine just arrived today, 2 days after I finally gave up and submitted the application with a note. I think it will be OK though, since I read a post on another forum about an owner that did the same thing and already got his red decals.
Mine was metered on 10/12, arrived today (10/15). We'll see how DMV deals with the glut of applicationsā¦ At least it's happening with sufficient time to make it (hopefully) a seamless transition.
After almost 3 weeks, my check still hasn't cleared so I just followed up my application with the prefilled form, noting that they already have my check for $22. Has anyone who sent in the prefilled form had their check cashed by the DMV?
No check cashed here yet (11/7), but it's only been a few weeks. Seems like it took awhile to get the green sticker, too. If a few are seeing their checks cashed, and we all sent them at about the same time, I'd expect to see others getting their checks cashed soon.
Got 'em today! Good until 1/22. DMV Special Processing Unit was a pain to work with due to lack of timely information and impossibility to reach on the phone, but they did come through in the end.
My red stickers arrived Saturday, 11/10. The check had been cashed Tuesday, 11/6, and they were postmarked on Thursday, 11/8. The registration form with them said they were issued on 11/1 though.
Issued 11/1, postmarked 11/9, arrived today 11/13. Check not cashed, though. Have others just applied these new ones over the old ones like registration tags? I wonder how difficult the green ones are to removeā¦
There are several videos on YouTube showing how to remove them using a hair dryer. I haven't taken off the old ones yet, but plan to. The instructions that came with them do say that you can apply the new ones over the clean, dry old ones.
These didn't come with instructions - just a new registration card and the decal certificate. I should've saved the instructions from the original green ones, but I didn't - so thanks for the advice. The white decals on our Tesla peeled off all by themselves, LOL, but they're not valid after Dec. 31 anyway so it doesn't matter.
