If you're a PG&E customer in an area subject to Public Safety Power Shutoffs or a High Fire-Threat District, and have an eligible vehicle,* you can get a $50 Amazon gift card for signing up with a new EV pilot project and another $50 for filling out a survey at the end. The project provides Automatic Smart Charging to compatible EVs (so far only Tesla) and sends alerts to other eligible plug-in owners. Smart Charging conserves grid capacity by avoiding charging when the load is high or shutoffs threaten, as long as your car can be charged by the programmed departure time.
