  1. If you're a PG&E customer in an area subject to Public Safety Power Shutoffs or a High Fire-Threat District, and have an eligible vehicle,* you can get a $50 Amazon gift card for signing up with a new EV pilot project and another $50 for filling out a survey at the end.

The project provides Automatic Smart Charging to compatible EVs (so far only Tesla) and sends alerts to other eligible plug-in owners. Smart Charging conserves grid capacity by avoiding charging when the load is high or shutoffs threaten, as long as your car can be charged by the programmed departure time.

All owners will get shutoff alerts from PG&E and "access to personalized charging insights." Vehicles capable of accepting Automatic Smart Charging from PG&E (currently only Tesla) get another $50. See more info and sign up here.
