I was confused by an article claiming, "Tesla will have zero sales in China by 2030: analyst". With Shanghai production going great guns and the recent price drop of the LiFeP battery Model 3 orders going nuts, what is wrong with this guy?

With data privacy and security between U.S. and Chinese tech companies top of mind, Jonas said, it’s unlikely the U.S. would allow a network of Chinese-made autonomous vehicles to drive around any major U.S. city in the future. Naturally, the flip side would also be true.

“Can you imagine a Chinese internet of cars autonomous network operating in the streets of Boston in 10 years? Of course not. Wake up. It's not happening,” he said.

“And so this idea that the Chinese aren't allowed to use AI network machine learning data privacy networks from the state, but it's okay for us to do [it] there, is just a fallacy in our opinion,” Jonas added.

The problem is this guy thinks autonomous driving has to be connected to a central data center. Although needed for initial AI learning, autonomous driving can 'freewheel'. But there is no reason why second data centers in each country can handle their own AI learning systems. Talk about no imagination!

ps. @Domenick might chat with the brain trust to see if there is interest in collecting Wall Street fallacies. I would not rank Nikola there because it was just a real life version of "The Producers."

He's technically correct. Zero car sales in China come 2030. All Tesla cars produced in China will instead go directly into the robotaxis fleet.
