Mini app no cell service

    Thanks, but I'm well beyond anything a range extender would fix. We're hoping to have cellular service in the future but the tinfoil hats are fighting it.

    I’ve got my fingers crossed for you — not to ruin the countryside! — but if you figure something else out or learn anything new about updates from MINI, please let us know. ;)

    I’m not sure you understand how this works. It isn’t a “booster” that grabs an existing signal. It actually uses your home internet service and sets up a mini cell tower in your home. It allows cellular devices to connect to it as they would a normal cell tower and connects to the internet via your internet service.

    The only rub, as others have mentioned, is they are network specific. You would need to find out what cell network the Mini uses and confirm the extender you can get from your cell provider would work with the Mini too.

    We recently switched cell carriers, and discovered that the dead zone was not as dead with AT&T as it had been with Verizon. I think the MINI was connecting to its service just fine all along, but my phone's app can now connect and check on the charging status when it couldn't before.
