The MG 5 is presently the only inexpensive electric estate vehicle on the market. It’s available with two battery capacities and the larger 61kWh setup provides the car an official range of 250 miles. Ordinary looks hide a modern cabin, and generous proportions make this a suitable electric family car or engineers vehicle chewing up 25,000 miles pa. I am looking for a used EV in the UK for max £12.5k, with: real-world winter range of at least 120 miles rapid charging of at least 200mph driver-assist safety features (automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warnings, lane-keeping). The MG5 is on my shortlist, along with the Vauxhall Corsa-e, Hyundai Kona, and maybe the Kia Soul EV. If anyone on here has an MG5, or used to own one, please can you post your experience. Any common mechanical/electrical issues to look for when inspecting a used car would be especially welcome. Good dealer/mechanic recommendations, too. Also pointers to useful threads, videos, etc. Thank you!
