I am about to buy a Clarity. I live in a condo and have nowhere to plug it in except in my bay of a communal garage. The electricity in the garage is paid for by the Condo association, not by me, but I have to reimburse them for it. I currently have a 2012 plugin Prius and I have a little Kill-a-watt type meter between the outlet and the charging cord. Each quarter, I read the meter and send the association a check for the number of KWH used based on their cost per KWH. Does the Clarity have a built-in or phone app to measure usage or do I have to continue to use my little meter?
The Clarity does not have a way to measure how much electricity it uses to charge the battery. Others on this forum use a Kill-a-Watt. Just enter Kill-a-Watt in the search window at the top of the page.
Gonna have to continue using your little meter. Nothing built in. I use the Kill-a-watt meter as well to keep on eye on the amps the Honda charger pulls which is about 10.65 and kw cost etc. I will take this opportunity to plug the Clarity (pun intended)...nice car with a traditional sedan feel...with 50 mile E-range as a kicker Good luck.
Thank you both for your replies. I have taken a test drive and liked it very much, but it is a much bigger car than I am used to and would be the first sedan, but it would be nice to drive more with electric than I can in my 2012 Prius which I have enjoyed.
