According to this article, LG is adding another battery manufacturing line to its plant in Holland, MI. I've long thought that if the Bolt was successful, that cell manufacturing would move to this facility. No word on which OEM/vehicle program the line is for. http://english.etnews.com/20180105200001
LG Chem Michigan by Cypress posted Jan 6, 2018 at 6:44 PM The “arial view” shown in the article is maybe a little optimistic. More like a artist rendering. But as you can see from the google satellite images, they do have lots of room for growth there.
This is definitely one of the ways GM can lower the price of the Bolt, by moving the cell mfg closer to final assembly.
