Three interesting things about this car, which seems very much like the one selling now in the US.
    1) The addition of ChaDeMO fast charge port, which also allows the vehicle to be used with an 'external power exporter' to generate AC power (i.e act as a backup generator up to 3KWH).

    2) The price in Yen is over $50,000 US dollars.

    3) "the Clarity PHEV realized EV driving (driving by battery charge) range of 114.6 km." Well, that's 71 miles by my converter. How did they do this without changing the battery?

The Japanese range-testing standards are more generous than those defined by the EPA (for either gas or electric range). That power exporter (originally released to accompany the Clarity FCEV and not available in the US) costs around $10K, so it's not the most economical source of juice--100 volt juice at that.
