Here is the advocacy line: 1-415-703-1584

What they are doing here is trying to raise the prices of electric cars to slow their adoption this is general collusion on the part of the fossil fuel industry. The idea that SCE hasn't been simply told that it will shut down and decommission all its fossil fuels plants is totally outrageous and needs to end. The only purpose their con investors serve is to absorb the risk related losses if it comes to that and it came to that a good while ago.

They charge you a premium for green energy 1.26 cents per kwh and charge about 20x the cost of actual green energy in the state and they charge this massive premium for power outages and lines that cause fires and a non green mix of energy that still costs almost 4x what rural coops charge for the same dirty product. They charge a huge premium to provide for public lights and make residential subsidize business usage. Its all a cover for natural gas and its unsustainable prices- it is radically more expensive than battery backed solar which could easily and quickly cover the entire states energy usage and the fires associated from the their colluder PG&E have driven the rates of home owners insurance in the state up 40% in one year where this same ridiculous insurers instead of refusing to insure coal and natural gas and oil not only insure them making the public pay the actual cost but buy their garbage stock! And here they go again wanting to raise the price in excess of inflation. They also claim they can shift the cost of people who ditch them onto remaining rate payers instead of their non contributing investors and they claim a guaranteed right to profit of 10% when they don't actually compete and have had protected local monopolies.

If you really look at was was going on with Halliburton and Enron and secret energy policy and stealing Iraqs oil and the idiocy of Kinder Morgan being able to charge you to insure their case lines on your property and look at fracking and the rolling black outs and 911 its the people who brought us all this goodness- the natural toxic gas scammers behind this. Some ones behind the hydrogen scam. These people made incredibly stupid investments and they need to be made to absorb the economic and karmic losses- its only right- needs and article 92 type defraud he public analysis.

When they have to shut power for a some hours or a day that portion of the overall bill needs to be prorated- yes your power is off but the bill needs to be reduced by some multiple of that amount in a way that can't be added back into their fees. We can keep them from trying gouge by inflating fees by forcing them to forfeit profit. What they expected was to be able to scam the public and blame in on green energy (being expensive when radically cheaper) public has no need to ever honor that kind of expectation.

The rates and percentages shown above are averages and are not the exact changes you may see in your bill. Changes in individual bills depend on how much energy each customer uses.

Why is SCE requesting this rate increase? SCE delivers your electricity. Every four years, SCE must file what is known as a General Rate Case (GRC) application with the CPUC. GRCs set rates that customers pay to fund SCE’s day-to-day operations, including maintenance for its equipment and electricity grid upgrades.

How could this affect my monthly bill? If SCE’s rate request is approved by the CPUC, the average residential monthly bill would increase by approximately $14 in 2021, $4 in 2022, and $6 in 2023.

How does the rest of the process work? This application has been assigned to a Judge, who will consider all proposals and evidence presented during the formal hearing process. The Judge will issue a proposed decision which may adopt SCE’s application, modify it or deny it. Any CPUC Commissioner may sponsor an alternate decision. The proposed decision, and any alternate decisions, will be discussed and voted upon by the CPUC Commissioners.

The Public Advocates Office (Cal Advocates) is currently reviewing this application. Cal Advocates is the independent consumer advocate within the CPUC with a statutory mandate to represent customers of investor-owned utilities to obtain the lowest possible rate for service consistent with safe and reliable service and the state’s environmental policy goals. Cal Advocates has a multi-disciplinary staff with expertise in economics, finance, accounting and engineering. For more information about Cal Advocates, please call 1-415-703-1584, e-mail [email protected], or visit Cal Advocates’ website at publicadvocates.cpuc.ca.gov.
