ID3 is more important but they aren't launching it globally. The problem with the ID4 is the power train including battery for a Model Y price makes it uncompatible. It is literally less than half as fast 0-60, it has compromised range (of 300 miles is a sweat spot) and it lacks so far 1 peddle braking- the regen may not be there. It has good room but lacks a frunk. The excuse given suggests its still not quite a from the ground up design. Have to think there will be a version of the Y that will get 4680s (not on the charts at battery day) and get ridgid wire harneses and perfect paint. That version may also have a bit quicker charging and be quicker and longer range and ne able to drive under AP on city streets even in tight turns (yes.) It will have the cast chassie and integrated batteries. VW has to up its game. But VW is at least attempting to improve. I wonder if they moved Diess because they didn't want to say they tried their best and failed.
