How many miles so far on your Kona?

    For the last 13 years, I have averaged between 35k and 45k miles per year.. This year is the least miles I have driven in the last 13 years, mostly due to COVID19. From March to June, I worked from home and drove about 2k miles less per month.. Without COVID19, I would be at 35k to 36k miles by now.. Unil about 2 years ago, I would drive to Texas about 4 times per year in addition to my regular driving.. 8000 miles per year just from driving from Central Florida to Texas.. The wife has family in Houston and McAllen.. Haven't been to McAllen with the Kona as there are no DC FAST chargers there and only a handful of Level 2 stations at car dealers.. In my area, I have about 14 FREE DC fast chargers (50kw) within a 60 mile radius as tons more pay DC fast chargers (and Florida is not known as a big EV state even though charging infrastructure here is very good) and McAllen area has ZERO!

    I only have 6000 miles on mine. I only got the car in Oct, and Covid has slowed me down a lot.

    I was working through the stats on where I have done my charging. Between the car, Juicebox, ChargePoint, and EA, I can account for about 70% of the charging. Half my charging is on the Juicebox at home. About 20% is DCFC. Of the 30% unknown, it is probably a mix of various Level 2, and a few DCFC that I don't have good records for.

    For sure. It also helps that I only run the AC if the temperature is over 86 degrees.. I average 4.8 mi/kwh over the 30200 miles that I have driven.

    Not sure exactly how much difference this makes, but warmer air is also less dense, thus less drag. That's also why airplanes like to fly high for efficiency, as air is less dense at higher altitudes.

    I hit 30,000 km today, trouble-free so far other than a nail in a tire, when I was lucky enough in the height of the lockdown to be able to drive to an open shop. The car still puts a smile on my face.

    Have you had the software update yet?
    If your odo reaches 36,210 km you will not get the battery check (Isolation resistance and cell deviation) prior to the multi -ECU update installation.

    25,000 miles on mine with average of 3.6 - 4 miles per KWH

    Hi all,
    I just turned 5,500 mi. in 7 mos. I put 1,300 on it in the first mo., then the virus shut it all down. I have solar (I live in AZ), so I’m figuring about $9 mo. to charge. I only charge at home (maybe twice a month now) and stick to the 80-20 charge rule.
    I just had the car into Hyundai for a rotation and software up date. Everything checked out fine. I have noticed after my first change afterwards that the gom seems to have gone WAY up (267 mi. at 92%). Reading comments on this board, that seems normal and won’t last (lol). I do have one question; how do I delete the message/email that Hyundai sent to notify me of the upgrade? I’ve deleted it about 20x and it just keeps popping up.
    It truly is an amazing car.

    Just passed 24,000 miles recently and still running strong. No major issues so far. Anyone hit 50k yet?

    Full charge to 100% looks like 249 miles.. so not sure if any loss in range yet.

    I am at 52k. Still holding well apart from the front suspension issue which is being addressed.

    I assume you are saying you have 52,000 miles (83,686 kms), that is a lot.

    I'm still averaging 4.7 mi/kwh since I bought the car.. Never reset the resettable trip odometer.. Even though the trip odometer goes back to zero every 10k miles, the average remains calculated based on the total miles since the last reset... and it's 4.7 mi/kwh right now. I do drive a lot of miles around town and that's how my average is so efficient.. I also run pretty high tire pressure.. Today, I went to the beach.. drove 130 miles round-trip with 70% highway (mostly 75 mph) and 30% city with some rain and AC on for the entire trip. I averaged 4.4 mi/kwh. Traffic was high but moving at about 75 mph in the fast lane... This did help my efficiency as if you drive behind other cars, your efficiency will increase a lot.. Heavier traffic, even at higher speed makes quite a difference.. I did increase my tire pressure to 46 psi for today's driving (2 psi above the tire's rating).. I hope that it won't blow up :-D
    I inflated it to 43 psi cold which ended up being 46 psi in the mid day heat..

    I just recently increased mine to 40 psi, and I think I am getting better range with that. My GOM consistently extrapolates out to about 530 kms (330 miles) these days.

    Tire pressure definitely makes a significant difference.. I went from around 5.0 mi/kwh to 5.7 mi/kwh around town after increasing my pressure from 38 to 44 psi.. Traction does suffer with higher pressure...

    Hehe, I'm such a lightweight compared to you all. Just passed 1,900 and have had the car 6 months exactly. Driving's been reduced a bit due to COVID, but not that much. I rarely put more than 5,000 miles a year on my car. At this rate, my Kona may last till I'm dead and buried, lol.

    Similar story here. Have the car 10 months and have 2,365 miles on it. If it remains reliable, it will be my last car.

    16,000 km in past 9 months, would have been 1100 km more as that is what I put on the dealer's loaner in this past week. They better get crackalakin and fix my kona if they know whats good for their car :)
