How can I see my actual combined mpg with HV and ev combined?

I have no difficulty staying in EV mode: My town has a 30 mph speed limit and many stop signs and stop lights! When I'm on the interstate I usually drive in HV mode until I'm returning home, at which point I wait until the distance from home = the EV range prediction. I then turn off HV mode and allow the ACC to continue the drive at 75 mph on battery and regen alone. There are no major hills to climb so the ICE doesn't have any reason to engage.

Do you use ECON Mode (where it requires no brain power to stay in EV) or have you trained yourself to stay below the EV-activation threshold in NORMAL Mode or SPORT Mode?

I've never used Econ - and always use Sport on the highway (for passing without throttle lag). I just press the pedal smoothly and never "floor" it - The acceleration is so smooth and linear that I'm always across the intersection before everyone else anyway!

I can't say that I've ever encountered the "click" although I have had the ICE come on at times. It's not that I'm a particularly slow or cautious driver - I guess it's just the way I drive.

I believe the Clarity delivers all 121 electric horses in ECON Mode when the accelerator pedal is up against the click point. NORMAL Mode and SPORT Mode just deliver that horsepower earlier in the travel of the accelerator. It's too bad the accelerator can't adjust the click point in NORMAL and SPORT Mode to make it easier to stay in EV. Then, again, perhaps some people dislike having to push through the click point to activate the engine.

I'm sure it delivers all the horses in EVERY mode - the difference is in the how the throttle is mapped. And, of course, what ECON does to the climate control... And, as I said, I've never felt the "click" - even when I've tried to find it! Econ.png
