At some point in the recent past, possibly after the last app update, I quite getting notifications from Honda Link when my car stops charging. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?
As I was reading this thread, my Android 8.0 LG Tracfone notified me that charging just completed. I wouldn't have responded to an iPhone thread, but the alert was too coincidental to refrain. How extensive are the changes to Hondalink's versions? It would seem that once they get the communications to work properly, changes elsewhere shouldn't affect that. However, I'm not an app programmer, so I don't know how one change elsewhere could affect the communications. Perhaps they keep tweaking the communications to reduce their costs on this free service. "Look! We can transmit 6 bytes instead of 7 if we just make this one little change...Oops, we should have tested that before making it a required upgrade."
I tried deleting the app from my iPhone and reinstalling it. It seems to have restored the alerts for now, we shall see if it keeps working.
Been like this recently. And last night was the last time it updated. Just tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it did update. Hopefully this will fix the alerts.
After upgrading my iPhone to iOS 13, I, too, had to delete the HondaLink app and reinstall it. Works fine now.
This seems to be a common resolution. I too have been having intermittent issues with getting 'charging done' messages. Usually get them when I don't need them... Last night the app quit updating altogether. Deleted app and reinstalled and so far it is back to reporting current conditions, I'll find out tonight if charging notification works.
I too am having issues since October 13th 5:09 pm. It says in my app that's the last time it updated. Oddly enough my odometer is still updating. I've tried all the common troubleshooting to no avail. On Monday I called honda in car support. They called me back a day later and did some troubleshooting and then escalated to another team (that was yesterday afternoon). I expect a call back by tomorrow or Friday and will keep you all posted. BTW they had me reset the tablet in the clarity. Big pain, lost all settings and now GPS doesn't seem to be able to acquire any satellites.
