Ford was on the right side of CARB and has been telling the country it is the only green auto maker. But these seem like it planning for a 2nd bailout to avoid bankruptycy for the 2nd time in a decade.

My sense is it knows its next bailout is coming and it knows its going under again.
And it somehow has a Trump win covered (through the family) and is hedging a Biden win by sucking up to CA and propagandizing itself with a blatent false on its face lie campaign- which makes it look stupid and desperate and obvious.

It will say at its next bailout hearing:
It was because of Covid and we're not alone...
answer: its a decade latter and you still haven't paid for your last bailout- liquidate assets to pay for that first.

It will say it was because it was going green

Answer: No you were compliance green and still are and you only started pandering with green washing when you were conspiring for another bailout through manipulations.
What you really did was loss lead your trucks by canibalizing all the valuation in your cars to the point the cars disappeared under a scam to cheat CAFE buy pushing people into heavier inherantly lower mileage vehicles under a decades old 25% import tariff on pickups to help drive up fossil fuels sales.
No, you are not green you are a complicit gross polluter.

You can have a bailout if change the name of the company to BEV. Commite to excluding the fuel cell scam (fossil fuels in BEV clothing) and drop all hybrids and PHEVS- only 100% BEVs- no electrifucation bs. And lock all Ford branding up permanently so it can never be used again (like the US did with certain German brands but more iron clad.) And stipulate in the charter that no Ford descendant or relative of a Ford descendent can ever influence, hold position or draw money or be employed in the company again. And delist and convert to 100% employee ownership excluding all board members, execs, managers, supervisors- no options or other bs ever. And require that board members sit on no other boards for 5 years before and after and have only board employment during tenure. Also that only rank and file employees (excluding supervisors) can vote for board members.
And no more UAW the employees as a group will retain their own outside law firm to kick the s out of any member of the hiearchy as need be- all members of the hierarchy are at will and can be fired at any time by a simple vote of the employees. If you opt to enter what remains of the unnecessary hierarchy you lose your security. Employees have control over compensation and terms of every level from the board on down including what the employees get paid and what their work hours, terms and benefits are. Employees determine changes to charter.
Members of the hierarchy sign an agreement that they understand that acting against the interests of the employees (including ever instance of dishonesty) will be considered a breech of ficuciary duty and every case be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for dissuasive purposes. BEV will accumulate and maintain a heavy fund for such prosecutions.

In 2007 a crash due to fossil fuel derivatives (insuring bad debt stranded from the start fossil fuel liabilities in an interlocking ponzi circle of opacity born of state complicity.) had Ford going bankrupt for lack of access to short term credit (if it needed this how profitable was it any recent prior point?) and it was inevitably going to go under. It was long term never other than structurally bankrupt under corporate wellfare but it was allowed to claim profit like all fossil fuel associated corporate wefare cases to make its parasitism look viable. My guess is it was allowed to take a loan (which it still hasn't paid back) because of the oligarch control and the government not wanting to say it was bailing out the Ford family. Guess the family will be ok one way or another.

Let us remind ourselves that rule by business or society for the benefit and sake of business instead of business only for the sake of society is corporate fascism and needs to be smashed. The bean counter ilk isn't bright enough, broad enough or naturally virtuious enough to be fit for any kind of rule- only the people are fit to govern themselves.
