Explaining the JD Power BS on Tesla

    What we have to remember with Tesla is that Tesla is the long time highest customer satisfaction and highest owner loyalty brand by a long shot and that lead continues to grow. Then you have to look at the timing and the shill/short noise from sht rags like Car & Driver which timed its worst review of a Tesla product ever with the Model Y- all its reviews of Tesla are bad because Tesla doesn't bribe C&D with ads and never will and that sets a precedent C&D can't stay in dishonest business with and they therefore campaign when other paid to lie sht rags like Ars Technica and the Verge et al. to chime in coordinated fashion. This seems to have started with Munro noticing an issue with a seal and some paint issues on the early Model Ys but otherwise highly regarding the Model Y and awaiting the full forged single piece underbody and rigid wiring harnesses for faster manufacturing.

    So the competitors saw an opening to spread bs because the Model Y launch was partially interrupted by the CV and as usual they desperately need a distraction from their own real structural issues. But I think we should remember it is BMW that has real quality issues. It is funny Daimler just ditched BMW as a self driving partner at a time when the big 3 in Germany were trying to put their heads together not because they wanted to perfect self driving for safety and customer satisfaction but because they wanted to make sure they weren't left out on monetizing vehicle spyware- a million miles away from the Tesla approach. Yep, BMW, makers of dumb cars and obsolete dumb engines but most of all a part of the fossil fuel retail apparatus must be projecting again because the Y will polish off its X series like he 3 did the 3 series. The difference in safety between the average sober driver and average drunk driver is probably smaller than the difference in safety between a Tesla with Autopilot on and the average BMW dumb car. We don't let drivers drives drive drunk why do we allow BMW to continue to sell its dumb cars?

    But when we're talking JD Power, because the big thing was JD Power resisted reviewing Tesla up until now because it would have been embarrassing for other automakers and embarrassing for JD Power- because if it tried to deviate from the truth it would have to explain the discrepancy between Tesla's singular buyer loyalty and customer satisfaction and mindshare and doing all that without out even advertising and JD Power's own rigged results. If you're looking at J.D. Power I think you're looking at Toyota, they were key to helping Toyota break into the US- well that and some dumping and some closed markets on the other side and of course Toyota's long, long history of higher quality or highest quality. And note also the JD Power survey claims its measuring "reliability" when that isn't what it is measuring- but for impact they want people to think its a survey of people who were stranded on the road side because the transmission dropped out- Teslas are less likely to do that than any other vehicle- electrics are radically more reliable so see the lie there, they are trying to suggest ICE doesn't have terrible comparative reliability and costs with this line of BS. But really they haven't wanted to compare Tesla in the past not because of volume but for the same reason the big 3 auto mags stopped comparing because their automaker sponsors told them to because they couldn't survive the comparisons. Which is ironic because these mags tend to be subscription plus ads where the subscription payers think they are the customers but its really the bribe master sponsors who are the customers which means the subscribers are paying to be lied too!!! You can see the genius and integrity of Tesla when it won't participate in that bull sht. Subscriptions plus ads shouldn't be legal because the contradiction is so destructive for society and ultimately for democracy because it equal press capture.

    So here we go- why is the Toyota loud speaker JD Power going after Tesla? Because! Because CA was Toyota's point of entry into the US market and Toyota has long dominated the CA market and as the most important market in the US and widely recognized as the toughest and most competitive market in the world this is core to Toyota's standing and reputation globally. But you see Tesla with its first mass market vehicle (crucially a EV) the Model 3 just outsold all Toyota makes in CA and then it just took Toyota's crown as highest valued auto company. So funny to watch all the pundits asking for the instant replay trying to pretend Toyota didn't go to the mat. And Tesla has been crushing Toyota's hybrids and Toyota's 'self-charging' marketing bs and as we know Toyota was on the wrong side of climate change in opposing CAFE and then CA through its proxy SCE just vetoed Toyota's long tail pipe hydrogen scam in the state. And as we know Tesla used to be a Toyota suppler (like it was a Daimler supplier and where both companies had invested in Tesla) supplying the guts for the early EV RAV 4. And as we know Toyota sold Tesla the Freemont plant and was pro EV before it waffled. And as we know GM couldn't make the Fremont plant work when it initially owned it and it blamed the quality of the people in the area (like it always blames its unions) and it did NUMMI with Toyota as wager of sorts to say Toyota couldn't make its worst plant work because of the culture there. They shared all the tech and machines but whereas GM listened to literally none of its employees suggestions Toyota listed to all of them (Deming influence) and Toyota produced markedly better quality because GMs backwards elitist mindset has sucked for 70 years. GM couldn't even listen to Drucker- Drucker was all great in their eyes until he made a suggestion.

    So Toyota has to figure out how to make smart cars (which they've humbly admitted they can't at the moment) and has to figure out how to do EV but they have experience because Prius etc. are redundant powertrain ev Trojan horses. I am not counting Toyota out, the state of Japan will never let Toyota go under. Toyota may undergo a reboot but it will surely come out much stronger. Look at Sony's reboot, looks much stronger now in many ways. The ICE industry has to stop its stupid money wasting customary tricks of diversion and realize they are not not going to sell pulse code rotary dial land line phones against 2020 smart phones.

    Where would the quality issue be with Tesla? You can see why a company like GM would need a union in there to so discord to keep the union relevant because GM doesn't listen- not even to its own customers. Doesn't Tesla use quality suppliers and partners and acquisitions like Kuka, Panasonic and Grohmann? Is Tesla a vitamin formulary like the legacy industry or is it vertically integrating and actually bothering to know and master its products and markets? Is Tesla doing incremental model year changes or is Tesla doing constant relentless improvement understanding that the only real mote is the rate of innovation? Is Tesla a patent troll trying to hide behind games? Are Tesla's factories old and built out? Is Tesla not pushing hard to simplify manufacturing and reduce failure points- Tesla does fail fast with more successes than all the others as they don't even practice it, they don't take risks they are driven by rent seeking hedge funds and other back seat drivers. Remember what Jobs thought of these kinds of people and about dividends. That's surely not public ownership at work that's just collusion for non contributing parasites. Tesla is not a colluder nor a rear view mirror driver, its driven by its mission.
    It exists to empower people, citizens, customers not bilk them or sell them things they don't actually need or want. Its basic orientation is fundamentally solid and honest. But look at Ford with its dealers that want to mark up the EV Mustang by 15K because because that is the amount of lemon they won't be able to extract from Ford customers because its an EV and has that much reliability built in regardless of the quality of EV it is.

    So Tesla on reliability- Tesla is bringing us cars that will run for a million miles (commercial TAAS level stuff) with no actual 'premium' and Tesla is making it possible for the average family to have a MASSIVE improvement in convenience and time savings for what will soon be 1/10th the expenditure on vehicles and gas and that is money families can put into other generally desperately needed things. Tesla is a company that generates social profit- societal profit where these others keep trying to dirty up water and air and food and bloodstreams. So who is reliable? Not JD Power and not the ICE competition.

    And this isn't just an opening act. This isn't Mike Tyson takes boxing by storm by not faking it in the ring but then gets arrested and can't come back. This is Tesla wrapped in the star spangled banner and where some people doubt the US went to the moon this is the US going to Mars and the species becoming interplanetary. As amazing as Tesla is SpaceX is even more so. This is not a one trick pony, this is not Ford makes the Model T its far beyond that.
