The EV Pioneers are a determined group of high school students that will be competing in the Waterloo EV Challenge in May 2018. The EV Challenge tasks teams of high school students with designing and building all-electric vehicles that are tested in an annual endurance competition. Teams participate in two races, plus an engineering design competition. Our goal is to design and build a car, from scratch, that runs completely on electric battery power. Once we have built and tested the car, we'll be ready to race in the the EV Challenge.

Our team designs, funds, manufactures, tests and races an electric vehicle. Every step in this process is done by west-end Ottawa, high school students. Our independent school status has its advantages and disadvantages. We are able to welcome all west-end Ottawa students who meet our entrance criteria. Though, without the ties to a particular local school, we lack the accessibility to a workshop and its tools, the mentorship of experienced teachers, as well as the financial support of the local school board. So, come check us out and follow us on http://evpioneers.weebly.com
