Electric F150 upsetting fossil fuel rent seekers

    There is fossil fuel panic over the F150 holy grail of trying to protect fossil fuels from the EPA and the Japanese having a fuel electric variant coming - let this kid no one it means quite soon the electric will be the only variant of the F-150 Ford still makes. But also let this kid no one that this is the most positive sign that Ford won't go out of business or get acquired by another ICE maker with both going under not long after. Of course Ford can't be trusted but some of it looks serious as it seems to be having to marry VW over the threat.

    Noticed that as soon as Ford announced the electric F150 that its stock actually dropped
    and then there was a bunch of negative fossil shill news about Ford. There was an apparent raft of sour grape news as Chanos and his ilk look appropriately stupid. A presumed example is today's hilarious Debord shill piece where he insists Tesla is not influential in the auto industry because electric cars are easy to make and ICE makers could switch over instantly if and when they wanted. Also tried to shill that a pure hybrid approach (keeping his fossil fuel paymasters in the loop) would be ecologically much better than a pure electric approach.

    Noticed also the Yes Men spoof Black Rock sending around a media release saying they were pulling out of fossil fuels. Actual Black Rock about the greatest pusher of fossil fuels is presumably the one behind ISS and all these Tesla investor (saboteurs.)

    Funny not long after F150 announcement that GM's Bara was asked about a competitor for the Ford truck but she couldn't help injecting the fossil fuel long tail pipe scam into her answer without answering it except saying she preferred in essence or strongly hinting at it fossil fuel powered electrification.

    Presumably the Model 3 will outsell Camry in the US this year. We just learned that China has 500 EV makes and is entering the year with EV production capacity equal to 90% of its domestic market which is the largest in the world. I can replace 90% of the largest EV market in the world with the capacity it just developed. It could dump its whole ICE market starting this year think of the nice ripple effect of 20 million new ICE vehicles not being sold. Presumably sometime in this year it will be able to replace it entire domestic market (remaining 10% included) and accelerate capacity at the same clip for the rest of the world. But fossil fuel crap organization BNEF is down playing as usual attempting to predict the slowing of EVs because these lies presumably serve the fossil fuel pay masters that pay it to lie about fossil fuel prospects.

    'Meanwhile' Tesla now has about 37% of the US luxury market making it dominant. At the tech top and profit cream of the crop top vehicle by make spots Tesla outsold it nearest competitor the Lexus LS by 4x. Really in the flaship ego driving money as no object status simple category the S outsold its competitors whole classes of time line vehicles in the US (said to be the most competitive market) and X ended the year in 2nd place but climbing. And of course the Model 3 did even better in the mid level ego and status driven segment because Tesla and electric propulsion are just flat superior and did that in a single year. And as we know Tesla as a plan be managed to upsell its Model 3 in a way that completely decimated the US luxury market because its that much better than Camry or Accord or BMW 3 series. We also know the BMW 3 series got destroyed.

    The quarter just ended will profitable and the quarter prior to that was profitable for Tesla and the current quarter is slated to be profitable. But in Tesla's case its real profit not this structural fossil fuel subsidy and finance subsidy that applies to GM and Ford. This quarter should see the unveiling of the Tesla Truck and the Model Y along presumably with pre-production test drives of the new Roadster and Tesla Truck. There will be some great stuff coming from Space X in this first half of the year. And as we know Gigafactory 3 in Lathrop almost constructed and Gigafactory 4 in Shanghai just started construction with China (fastest infrastructure and big project area in the world) slated to be finished in record time (not unrealistic for China) in a year. We also say that current AP2 is about 6.71x better than unaided driving for crash prevention but we will also presumably see AP3 and Tesla's own chip with a 10x improvement in speed coming at the end of this quarter supporting full self driving. All of this means Tesla will sale over its little debt bubble. No matter what revenues are way way up the gains will keep coming. Reviews of Tesla products are getting better by the day.

    That brings us to the Rivian the mid sized electric off road adventure truck:

    Ford surely looked at what Tesla did the the Luxury market and its fat little profit center.
    And Ford surely understood that this is what people would buy when money was no object.
    And Ford surely saw the cost curves coming down on related energy tech which supports the likes of Tesla as a from electrons to transport full spectrum provider- look at the new stuff on 8minuteEnergy. And then Ford saw Rivian comming up under the Tesla umbrella and saw the 500 Chinese makes and what China is doing to access the the world's largest market and so with all of this it is trying to marry VW which attempted to marry Apple and making noises about it planning an all electric F150 the way it did an all electric Ranger in 1998-2000.

    50% more Torque
    3.61 seconds faster 0-60 (certainly better quarter mile)
    7-8x more fuel efficient F150 Ecotech gets 15.46 avg mpg
    better traction
    much lower center of gravity
    better handling
    much higher fording capacity
    much lower levels of noise, vibration and harshness
    much lower maintenance costs
    much lower down time
    radically better eco foot print
    also has about a cubic meter of extra internal storage beyond F150
    easier to park
    much better throttle response

    About the only draw back would be bed length

    But Tesla will introduce a full sized or full sized plus truck that will completely crush
    what Ford offers across the board (not that the Rivian doesn't already) in a way that
    causes Ford truck sales to stall as people wait for the Tesla. I think this will happen
    as soon as Tesla unveils the the Tesla truck.
