I read a story somewhere on insideevs that the 2022 Bolt EV will NOT fast charge when away from your home-installed charger. Is this true? Also, does this problem apply to 2023 Bolt EVs?

    Thanks.

I want to order a 2023 Bolt now, but NOT if the DC Fast charge problem applies to the new 2023 models. Anybody have any info on this?

Bolt EV and EUV can use DCFCs, problem is how fast they can use them. I believe they max out around 75kw speed so even on 150kw and 350kw chargers they will take a while to charge. I would not look at a Bolt as a road tripping car but a great car for daily use where you can use L2 chargers at night.

The Bolt does fast charge, however, it charges slower then most other manufacture's EVs. It's a good commuter car, but it's not really a good long distance runner.

Note that in the Bolt forum they took a poll as to how many times folks actually used a fast charger. It wasn't that often.
