It's likely I've overlooked something very simple, but how do I get the climate control system just to blow in outside air? I don't want heat; I don't want air conditioning . . . just air from outside. What are the proper settings? (Apologies if I've neglected a simple instruction in the manual.)
I have been turning the temp to low, set to fresh air, hit the climate button and turn off a/c then adjust fan as needed. If you put it on the defrost/floor or hit defrost the a/c will come back on and need to be turned off again. I'd like a toggle for heat as well as a/c, and I really wish they would have given us the heat pump. it should have just been an extra valve
Along with an LegoZ’s A/C switch, I’d like a light that shows when it’s on without having to go through menus to find out. Hate there’s no easy way to get just plain outside air.
Sigh they still claim heat pump The Clarity Plug-in Hybrid features energy-smart climate control technologies, an efficient Heat Pump, eco mode, and multiple levels of regeneration to help maximize your driving rang
I kinda want to retrofit this as I think it would heat more effectively than the resistive heat for amount of heat per energy I have stored onboard (7 gal of fuel vs .5 “gallon” of electric”) https://www.webasto.com/index.php?id=14841 Problem is I don’t really need that much heat being in north Texas. I think better buy is to figure out hous to retrofit the accords heated wheel.
The real problem is that often Honda doesn’t specify whether they are talking about all Claritys or just the FC or just the BEV or just the PHEV. So coupled with not giving out many technical details, this creates a lot of confusion.
HAS ANYONE FOUND A SIMPLER WAY TO DO THIS. I THINK YOU HAVE TO DO THIS EVERY TIME YOU TURN THE CAR ON? IF YOU DRIVE IN ECO MODE, WOULD AC NOT COME ON WHEN TEMP IS SET VERY LOW?
It appears not to kick the AC back on as long as you don’t touch anything and you don’t shut the system off manually with on/off switch. So fan on high, set to face/feet, and AC set Off shut off the car. Come back later “Start” the car and the settings should remain. I don’t know however if the remote climate works properly in this setup for either heat or cool.
