  1. The NAPA guaranteed fit CAF for the 2021 Kona EV did not fit (Altrom ALT3603477). Instead you need to order a CAF for the 1999 elantra: https://www.napacanada.com/en/p/ALT3603478?impressionRank=4 It's an Altrom pn ALT3603478.

For the record rough measurements of the CAF are: 1 1/4" high, 9 3/8" wide, 7 3/4" deep.

Thanks for the heads up on Rock Auto, Apu. I have ordered lots from RA but I always pick up from a depot in the US. So the RA filter is still a little cheaper.

  3. Since I am selling my Kona EV, I won't be needing all the cabin air filters that I had bought before, 3 left over (what was I thinking?). If anyone in the Vancouver area (Langley specifically) wants one, can sell them for $10 each. Let me know.

    What are you buying next?

  5. I knew you were ruminating about trading your Kona in but (somehow) missed that you'd actually decided to go ahead. What cars do you have on order?

  6. I've got 3 pre-orders in for the Ioniq 5, and 1 pre-order for the Solterra. Don't expect either one until late this year at the earliest, so wife and I will have to share 1 car in the meantime.

  8. Are you sure the filters are different, have not found a part# for Ionic 5 yet

  10. You probably already know this and I can't speak to the Solterra's availability but if current supply chain issues continue don't expect a Ioniq 5 ordered in February 2022 to be delivered until at minimum 1st quarter of 2023, maybe. I would keep in touch with your sales contacts and consider jumping on any cancelled orders that may show up.

  11. Yes, in hindsight I wish I had put in my pre-order for the Ioniq 5 last year. But I did manage to convince my wife that we can get along with 1 car between us until then. It was being able to sell it for $5K above what I paid for it 3 years ago, that helped that decision. I very much doubt that I would get that a year from now, when EVs should be more available. I will park the money into a hedged ETF paying monthly a steady 6.5% annual dividend. That should pay for the extra gas I will use without an EV.

I don't expect the Solterra before the end of this year at the earliest either. But I think it will happen before the Ioniq 5. I am #7 on my dealer's pre-order list. And he is the largest dealer in BC, so should get the largest allocation. My son is #8. I want both the Ioniq 5 and the Solterra. The Solterra is needed for its off-road capability to our cabin.

  13. Thread bump,... and a reminder this cabin filter also fits the Elantra.

  14. Why not just give them to the new owners, a "thank you for no rubber cheque":)

  15. Yes, that is my plan if no one else wants them. But I know the dealer prices are much higher, and if anyone local wants them, am willing to help them out, too. BTW, the buyer is not private (can't remember if I had mentioned that). It is another reseller.

  16. I found the Fram equivalent CF12058 if anyone is looking like me.
