Is the $3000 difference worth it for the Touring? I use my phone for navigation, so it seems a lot to pay for leather seats and auto seat adjustment.
Also, I plan to put down a sizeable down payment, finance the rest and pay off the balance within a couple months. Is Honda financing straight forward? Allows full prepayment and doesn’t front load the interest?
I can’t wait to buy this car! Thanks for your help.

    Honda financing was pretty simple.

I understand the feeling of not having the bank "own the car" but it's also a good feeling to be using someone else's money to be earning interest.

I selected a car with the Touring package and am glad I did. But, I love leather seats.

Honda's 0.9% interest rate was better than our credit union's 2.2% rate …

I think it all boils down to if you want leather and memory seats.

I personally don’t like leather seats and got the base.

I m from Canada and I have been told that if you pay off your honda finance loan any time, you only pay interest for that time only you take finance.

Use hondas money at 0.9% you can beat that by putting your money in almost any investment. I understand its nice to own the car. Just make sure you put enough down to not need gap insurance if you dontd wish to have that.

I got the base model. Non leather seats don’t bother me. What bothers me is the cheap rubber steering wheel that you get for base model. Still, 3k extra wasn’t worth it for me. Wish they had a leather version minus the navigation. Would’ve paid up to 2k more for it. 3k was too much

That’s the way Honda Finance works in the USA. No prepayment penalty and you can pay off entirely at any time and make extra payment amounts at any time which will reduce even the small amount of interest and end loan sooner.
You only pay interest on the amount you borrow and that gets reduced with every payment. You can kind of think of paying cash as a “loan” at x% for 0 period of tune so no interest charge.
It’s all on line, so it’s very easy and I don’t even have a teenager at home anymore to do it for me.

As all have said it’s financially advantageous to pay Honda 0.9% for your money while you invest it where it makes a higher interest rate. I folded in all the tax and fees and did a 5 yr loan to maximize my “profits”. My son with the Finance Degree said I did good.

fwiw, I got the touring for the remote "climate control". Expensive option, mitigated by the seats. :)

Wow, I wasn't aware of the lack of leather steering wheel cover in the base. It's a little thing but it's really important for me. It's surprising because that's usually standard equipment in all but the least expensive cars. I suppose you can stitch on an after market cover pretty easily. I do wish Honda had included a heated steering wheel. With that and the heated seats, I wouldn't have to turn on the cabin heater at all.

The Honda literature I’ve got says both trims get Honda Link.
