Anyone here notice a big difference for road noise before and after the body plugs? I was planning on asking for the plugs at my first service visit, but might do it before that if it makes a big difference.
I have the same question. Also, has anybody confirmed what the part number is? Thinking about ordering some online
They should have been installed by the dealer. The dealer should order and install them at no charge, along with an apology to you.
I’ve had mine in for a couple of weeks now and although listening Is rather subjective, I’d say they make a small but noticeable reduction in road noise. I don’t think it’s as great as the verbiage in the PDI would lead us to believe. However I notice a little less road noise when on rough asphalt but not on smoother asphalt where it was already very quiet.
I just had my plugs installed by the dealer. They did it at at no cost and had me out in 30 minutes. I can't tell if the car is any quieter. As a control, I didn't tell my wife these would reduce noise and waited to see if she noticed. She didn't. Finally I asked if she thought the car was any quieter - she said I had the wrong radio station on. I'll take that as no.
Mines have been in for about two weeks but my dealer also never adjusted the air in my tires from 50psi to 36psi. With the correct 36psi and plugs, I notice a difference for sure but not earth shattering. It's a shame the pre delivery is not consistent with all dealers.
I have not checked the tire pressure since I picked up my car last Wednesday. Can someone help me with the Coles Notes on the tire pressure? I am noticing quite a bit more road/tire noise than I had expected and I wonder if it's due to this. I do have the body plugs installed from PDI (at least the two front ones that I can find with my phone camera )
The tire pressure is 36 Psi. It leaves the factory in Japan at over 50 and the dealer is supposed to reset it to 36 psi but a fair number do not. You can find the rear plugs immediately behind the two rear lift points hidden behind the right angle welded piece on the frame in front of the back wheel well. They are much closer to the edge of the car than the front ones.
