After dabbling in EVs -- it sold the R8 e-tron (fewer than 100) for a year, ending in Oct. 2016, and has produced a plethora of concepts over the past eight years -- Audi is getting serious. Very serious. Now, it says it will build EV factories around the world, starting with Brussels, which will produce the e-tron Quattro and e-tron Sportback.
Very interested in Audi's design choices for these vehicles. So much of their stuff feels outdated, this is a chance to make big statements
The E-Tron and E-Tron Sportback do look significantly different than Audi's crop of SUVs, but these are only concepts for now. The production cars won't look nearly as exciting. Let's just hope Audi will find a way to distance these electric SUVs from the conventionally powered Q models.
My Favorite SUV right now is the Audi SQ7 (half price Bentley), but yes I know it is not electric. I'm waiting for the SQ7 to come to America, but by that time the E-Tron might be here!
